clay wood & cotton

01.08.10

over the weekend i made my way down to beacon to a new shop called clay wood & cotton.  now before i tell you how cute it is i must admit they carry some of my work so i am slightly biased :)

but truly, even if i was not involved with them it really is a great store!  housewares, paper goods, ceramics, as well as fabric and a few diy kits for the crafty among us.

busy girl

12.07.09

my apologies that posting has been more sporadic than usual lately. i’ve been a busy bee. lots of holiday shows which have been keeping me printing in the studio all during the week and then away from home selling on the weekends.

this past sunday i attended the bizarre bazaar in boston. what a great show!  the cyclorama, where it was held, is a beautiful space and the crowd was fun and energetic. a great time all the way around!

my  neighbor at the show was albertine press. if you don’t already know their work i suggest you make yourself acquainted here and here.  i came home with this lovely calendar which you can see more photos of and purchase for yourself right here.

renegade recap

09.23.09

better late than never?

the renegade craft fair in chicago was held the weekend of sept. 12 & 13.  i’ve been meaning to post photos but time is just moving too quickly lately.

what a great show it was!  i had participated in renegade in brooklyn but this was my first time in chicago.  so much talent, it was both humbling and inspiring.  i felt lucky to be in such good company.  i was able to walk around a bit on sunday and i so wish i could have spent more time than i did.  a few snaps of things that caught my eye below.

these great pillows from k studio. i’ve been a long time fan and it was so nice to meet shelly.  she was very warm and talking with her made me like her work even more.

kstudio

amazing work from uncommon, who were also my booth neighbors.  jesse and vincent were great and i loved getting to chat with them throughout the weekend.  i wanted pretty much one of everything.

uncommon

these sweet pillows from blue thimble. i was especially fond of the snail one (big surprise) and thought they’d make a great children’s gift.

bluethimble

earrings from cursive design.  all of sarah’s jewelry is amazing.

i had never heard of urban posture before but i loved everything in their booth. it was so crowded i was barely able to take any photos but managed to snap this one of a really cool clock.

vintage top

04.14.09

as i was doing some spring cleaning the other day i came across this top tucked into a corner of one of my overnight bags.  i had bought it during my holiday travels and then completely forgotten about it!  the top is from a shop in new hope, pa. called love saves the day.  they used to have a store in the east village as well but sadly that one has closed.

finding the shirt after all this time was so exciting, sort of like buying it all over again!

england and ireland

07.29.08

what a wonderfully long and relaxing trip. two weeks spent in the english countryside and one in the western part of ireland.

i could live in england, really i could. of course the three times that i’ve been there i’ve had incredibly good weather…

we spent most days hiking the hills and walking from town to town. the lake district has some spectacular hiking and i definitely recommend going if that’s your cup of tea (ha).

we flew out of manchester and into galway. we happened to get into galway just at the end of their annual arts festival. the city was insane! sort of like new years even in times square but with lots of performances. we saw lots of cool bands and visited some really nice galleries.

we stayed in the south western part of ireland. no plans really, just sort of bounced around from town to town which was fun but also a bit exhausting. here’s a photo of a castle that was close to the cliffs of moher.

once i go through everything maybe i’ll post some other photos from the trip. so now i’m going to get settled in and back into the swing of things.
