sometimes things don’t work out the way you think they are going to. as i had mentioned in an earlier post i had a rough idea of what i wanted my holiday cards to look like:

i did lots of tweaking but nothing seemed to work. the tree seemed sad and not at all festive. not that i was looking to design a card with a large jolly man on it or anything but just something that was happy without being overly “christmasey”. eventually after much trial and error i came up with this:

calendars i’m loving

11.24.08

one of things i love most about the end of the year is shopping for a new calendar. i always have the worst time making a decision about which one to buy, there’s usually three or four (or five…) that i want but honestly how many calendars does one girl need?

a few of my faves for the coming year -

snow & graham always tops my list. i love all of their paper products:

i love this calendar from jhill design, part of the places i have never been series:

holiday cards in the works

11.19.08

this is an idea i’m working on for holiday cards. i sort of like it but it needs to be more festive… brighter colors, maybe some leaves on the branches. not sure, i’ll post the outcome whatever that may be.

surprise!

10.21.08

i went on print & pattern this morning for a little eye candy and inspiration and i ran across myself! (i’m the tea towels with blue print) that was unexpected and a little funny since it’s one of the places i go for inspiration in my textile work.
