the caftan – the perfect piece of summer clothing. throw it on and you are both incredibly comfortable and incredibly chic.  clockwise from top left – tory burch, jean paul gaultier, oscar de la renta, jcrew.

hearts

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

the heart motif is everywhere for spring but i’m not sure i’m buying it (literally or figuratively). there’s something about hearts that just doesn’t sit well with me. even when they aren’t used in a juvenile way they still seem immature to me. or maybe too girly (but not girly in a good way).  what do you think? will you be buying anything with hearts on it for the coming season?

karen barbé

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

last night i was wandering through flickr.  looking at photos from my contacts and their contacts and so on… and then i stumbled across the work of karen barbé.  my first thought was how amazing it is – the use of color, the mixture of motifs – really beautiful work.  and then i also thought, haven’t i seen this somewhere before?  i think i must have seen her on another blog.  so if you have already seen her work, my apologies for the repeat, but if you haven’t you should definitely take a few minutes to check out karen’s shop.
