holiday ornaments

11.19.09

these are some new ornaments i’ve been making.  a little different from last years ornaments, this year i decided to combine machine and hand embroidery.  i like how simple they are.  i also like that they’re square, it gives them a little bit of quirky. i think i’ll make more but in less traditional colors.

map tote has done it again

11.12.09

awhile ago i blogged about maptote, i was excited that they had included a catskills bag to their line.  this morning while reading daily candy i saw these new wine totes they’ve made.  how great are these?! such a nice way to present a hostess gift, cool and functional.

renegade recap

09.23.09

better late than never?

the renegade craft fair in chicago was held the weekend of sept. 12 & 13.  i’ve been meaning to post photos but time is just moving too quickly lately.

what a great show it was!  i had participated in renegade in brooklyn but this was my first time in chicago.  so much talent, it was both humbling and inspiring.  i felt lucky to be in such good company.  i was able to walk around a bit on sunday and i so wish i could have spent more time than i did.  a few snaps of things that caught my eye below.

these great pillows from k studio. i’ve been a long time fan and it was so nice to meet shelly.  she was very warm and talking with her made me like her work even more.

kstudio

amazing work from uncommon, who were also my booth neighbors.  jesse and vincent were great and i loved getting to chat with them throughout the weekend.  i wanted pretty much one of everything.

these sweet pillows from blue thimble. i was especially fond of the snail one (big surprise) and thought they’d make a great children’s gift.

bluethimble

earrings from cursive design.  all of sarah’s jewelry is amazing.

i had never heard of urban posture before but i loved everything in their booth. it was so crowded i was barely able to take any photos but managed to snap this one of a really cool clock.

one of the best things i’ve seen on etsy in a long time.  this adorable pony holds one full skein of embroidery floss.  made by missy of sugarcookie, get yours right here.

jen jeglinski ceramics

07.28.09

two weekends ago (was it really that long? summer is flying by) i participated in the belltower market in rosendale where i met jen jeglinski who was also selling there.  i loved her work immediately.  throughout the weekend we spent time talking and it turns out not only is her work fantastic but so is she!  i came home with this beautiful mug and have been using it every day since.

the perfect dog bowls

07.21.09

how perfectly simple are these dog bowls?  clean lines, good solid shape and (thankfully) absent of any sort of bone icon or (god forbid) the words bow-wow on it.  i love them!  and yes, i know dexter doesn’t care what he eats and drinks out of.  as a matter of fact he routinely uses his food bowl as a chew toy.  but i’ll pretend that he’s impressed and happy to have such cool new bowls.

more fabric magnets

06.25.09

i wanted to try having more of the surface area embroidered but now i’ve come to realize the problem with that is keeping the stitching in the center.  a bit trickier than i thought it would be.  i like these but the one in the upper right is way off center.

cutest egg cosy ever

06.19.09

i don’t eat eggs.  nothing about them appeals to me.  i wish i liked them - good source of protein and all but try as i might i just can’t get into them.  scrambled, sunny-side up, hard boiled. nope.

now don’t get me wrong i like lots of things that have eggs in them, cookies, cupcakes, etc. but just not the egg itself.  however these cozies from hut up make me wish so very much that i liked them.  if you do like eggs i suggest you get some of these lovelies at rose & radish.
